Moving Women for Sustainable Development (MoWSuD-SL) was founded in 2011 by Madam Mariama Khai Fornah. Inspired by her work with BBC Media Action, she identified the urgent need to mentor young girls and support women’s empowerment across Sierra Leone.
Initially registered in 2013 as Khailoi Women Empowerment for Sustainable Development (KWESuD), the organization expanded its scope and was renamed to MoWSuD-SL during an Annual General Meeting.
